Federal Environment Minister Jim Prentice, sixth from left, joined MP Gord Brown at the signing of a friendship and co-operation agreement between the 1000 Islands in Canada and 1000 Islands Lake in China. The agreement was organized by Leeds and Thousand Islands Township Mayor Frank Kinsella, fourth from left, and the weekend of activities to celebrate the signing took place Sept. 11-13. The weekend included tours of the area, a dinner and tree-planting ceremony in Rockport.
