Gord Brown encourages participation in Remembrance Day ceremonies

November 01, 2016

Brockville – Gord Brown, Member of Parliament for Leeds-Grenville – Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, today encouraged constituents to participate in Remembrance Day Services.

“At this time of year we thank our veterans for their courage, dedication, and many sacrifices and we especially remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf,” he said.

“Today, and every day, we honor men and women, brought up in ordinary communities like ours, who were called to be extraordinary in tough times and extreme circumstances.

“It is because of their sacrifices that Canada is one of the safest, most prosperous countries in the world.  We will always remember the work of our brave service members, past, present, and future. It does not go unappreciated.”

There are Remembrance Day services in almost every community in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, Brown noted.

“Please take the time to remember.”

Brown notes that he will be laying a wreath in Gananoque this year.
