November 23, 2010

Brockville – November 21, 2010 - Gord Brown, Member of Parliament for Leeds-Grenville is excited about the fourth annual Hockey Night in Leeds-Grenville.

The annual charity game, which features Members of Parliament, Cabinet Ministers, media personalities, local celebrities and this year four former NHL players, raises funds for the United Way of Leeds-Grenville.

“Former NHL star Todd Gill is the Honorary Chair at the game which takes place at 8 pm at the Cardinal and District Community Center,” explains Brown. “Lyndon Slewidge, who sings O Canada at the Ottawa Senators games, will be on hand to sing the national anthem.”

Tickets are $5 per person or $10 for a family of four.

Following the game there will be a reception where the public can meet the players.

The United Way helps fund 27 agencies that provide 93 programs in Leeds-Grenville. One in three people in the riding uses one of these programs.

Last year the game raised over $70,000 for the United Way.

“We are hoping to top that this year,” says Brown.

He invites everyone to come and enjoy a great evening of entertainment for a great cause.
